Devon Borchak
Devon has felt the call to serve in the Czech Republic ever since she was a little girl. She 
comes from Czech stock— and God has used that curiosity and interest for her heritage to give her a heart for the Czech people. Through multiple trips to the Czech Republic to serve, and for vacationing—she has felt the call to be “the hands, and feet” of God and to serve wherever needed; but especially to reach out to women and teen girls.
She has had the opportunity to reach out to women and teens in the past through her position at a women’s ministry in Michigan. There she grew immensely in her faith and to ability to serve; teaching Bible studies, building relationships with clients, and assisting them in reaching their goals. She absolutely loves helping people, and most of all evangelizing.
Devon has taken courses in Evangelism Explosion, and Way of the Master evangelism training methods, and loved them—although she believes being ready and willing when God commands is always the key.
It was through such consistent witnessing (by some Christian family members), and the gentle leading of God—that helped her recognize the severity of her sins. God helped her finally see the total need that she had for Jesus to be her Savior. So when she was thirteen (or so) alone in her room, God alone led her in a prayer to ask Him to take control of her life; to beg Him for forgiveness of her sins, and to recognize that Jesus died on the cross—paying the full cost for all her sin!!
The road after salvation was not easy—but such wonderful church family at both Bethel Baptist, St.Clair Shores, MI. and Calvary Bible Church (Kalamazoo, MI) have encouraged, strengthened, and helped her along the way. (She loves them all!)
Devon is so excited to learn from/and get to know more Czechs as she will be serving through TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) to further assist “church planting” efforts through the Coffee House Ministry, Common Grounds—near Prague.
