Conversion
Larry: I accepted Jesus as my Savior at the age of 5 along with my brothers and sister. It took me some time until I realized exactly that this decision meant I should live for Christ and not myself. Through the support of Christian friends and a caring church community, I began to make this decision impact my heart and shape my life.
Michelle: I also accepted Jesus as my Savior at a young age. My parents both love and serve the Lord and my mother was the person God used to draw me to Him. Throughout my childhood, missionaries were regular visitors to both our church and our home. This close contact made missions more real to me.
Call
While attending Bethel Bible Fellowship Church in Emmaus, we have served in various capacities. Perhaps, one of the most dynamic ministries we have been involved in together was our Youth Ministry program. As a result of our involvement in Youth ministry, we had the opportunity to go on several short-term missions’ trips. The Lord used these trips to light the fire within us to pursue full-time ministry. After two short term missions’ trips with our church to Eastern Europe and many discussions with others in our church, we felt God’s leading to church planting in Eastern Europe. We were ready to go.
Our desire was to open our hearts to God, to see the world through His eyes, to see where He was working and join Him there. Much time was spent in prayer as we saw God opening doors while closing others. In March 2004 we began meeting with various mission’s agencies. The opportunities available through TEAM in Czech Republic struck us as perfectly fitting our gifts and abilities.
Ministry
We began two years of language and cultural study shortly after our arrival in March of 2006. During that time we lived in Prague 13, and attended the Církev Bratrská church that was established there in the fall of 2005. In June 2008, we moved to the 10th district of Prague to begin a 2 year internship at the Prague 10 - Skalka ministry initiative.
